Jay Kain and his staff have given me my life. after suffering for
12 years with fatigue and pain that restricted my activity, I am
now resuming normal levels of activity pain free. I am thrilled
to once again be swimming and downhill skiing. My IMT experience
has healed my body as well as my heart and soul;. I am a firm believer
that IMT is a medical treatment that fulfills a need that conventional
medical methods do not address. I highly re comment a visit to Jay
Kain and his staff.

For the past seven years I have suffered from Peripheral Neuropathy
in both my feet. My toes are numb along with a painful burning and
tingling sensation in my feet. The pain was almost constant, but
was worse at night. It interfered with my sleep and many other aspects
of my life.
I had been to many doctors and was not helped except for my Neurologist
who prescribed increasingly larger dosed of pain medication.
Fortunately, late last year I heard Dr. Jay Kain speak at the Southern
Berkshire Community Center. I went to see him although I doubted
that he could help when so many other doctors could not. Well, he
did help. To my amazement after the first treatment I was pain free
for 12 days. I was able to cut down on my pain medication for the
first time in years. Subsequent treatments gave me relief for longer
periods of time.
The treatments consisted of gentle pressure to various parts of
my body (not my feet). I don't know how it works, but it works.
I have been able to live my life without pain and without dedication.

“I want to thank your staff of therapists for their expertise
in helping me to alleviate my shoulder pain caused by an inoperable
old injury – a torn rotator cuff. The postures or poses used
(the “processing”), which were given to me as homework,
resulted in allowing me to continually maintain the care necessary
to keep my shoulder limber and free of pain. The end result of this
increased freedom is that I could resume my practice of yoga which
provides the vehicle to keep my lower back, which has two herniated
discs, free of discomfort with no doubtful surgical procedures to
either my shoulder or lower back.”
“I heartily endorse your business, physical therapy procedures,
and staff.”

Over the years, I've suffered neck, back and soft tissue injuries,
due to accidents. I had many modes of treatment, mostly traditional,
and had come to expect that "I should only do what is comfortable,
physically, as I would always have a problem." Not too easy
to do, for an active person. I first became involved with Jay B.
Kain Physical Therapy, after a fall on ice, while going to work.
I fractured my humerus, which impacted into the shoulder joint.
A friend, who happened to be a physical therapist, recommended that
I go to Jay B. Kain Physical Therapy for treatment. I might say,
that was a lucky "break" for me, as my treatment has enabled
me to put my arm behind my back, to my shoulder blades, which I
had been told, by a physician, probably would not be possible. I'm
happy to say, that after a year of therapy, I am able to do the
above and with ease. My therapist treated the whole person; she
validated my feelings, gave me much encouragement, praised my efforts
and progress, no matter how small, and yet, was very firm in what
she was telling me what to do to get better, and always with an
explanation, as to why. Lets say, I was motivated to get better,
but very often; my therapist gave me the motivation.
In addition, I'm now in treatment, uncovering the injuries of the
past, and with positive outcomes. I can walk upstairs without a
real struggle, take walks without pain, and do many things that
I had given up on. The therapy is not traditional, but certainly
is my kind of therapy. There is no pain accompanied, but gentle
touch, and sometimes-strange positions; but it works. I understand
that the body remembers its injuries, and protects the injured part.
My therapist is also a teacher; she impresses me with her knowledge
and instincts, always explaining treatment procedures.
This therapy is not time limited and is longer than traditional
therapies, but it gets to the core of the problem and who could
ask for more? The relief is wonderful & to be able to do things
that, in the past, have caused pain is a great feeling. The holistic
approach by Jay B. Kain Physical Therapy is paramount.

A Caring Mom writes….
My daughter was diagnosed at the age of 2 1/2 as being moderately
to severely autistic. I didn't know anything about the disorder
except that it meant she would not be able to function in the world
as she grew up, would have no friends or attachments to people,
and no hope for a family of her own in adulthood. Understandably
devastated, I grieved and began to look at anything and anyone who
could make a difference in her life. I found it in the manual therapy
techniques offered at Jay Kain Physical Therapy.
I was not told to expect miracles, but that miracles can and do
happen. It was explained to me that some treatments might not show
positive, but negative reaction, but that was also good - it meant
that if it could be manipulated in ANY way, it was therefore changeable.
And it was. She made steady improvement.

I have had kyphosis since adolescence. Thanks to Jay
B. Kain and his associates, I am getting help with it 50 years later.
I can now hold my shoulders back and my chest up so my vital organs
are not compressed, and even the roundness of my upper back is diminishing
with continued treatment.
I highly recommend Jay B. Kain Physical Therapy’s
Integrative Manual Therapy™.

M___ has gone from having to use a wheelchair or walker
just to get around the house, to walking short distances completely
on his own. When he doesn’t think about it, he just gets up
and goes – then realizes what he’s doing and is tickled
pick. This sky’s the limit if this keeps up.

My therapist is a great professional in all ways.
Once I went for treatment I felt not everything was “slammed”
into place. It was the first true treatment plan, with homework,
etc., that I had….. All in all, I wouldn’t go to any
other Physical Therapy Facility.

In April of 1998, I was rear ended in a Motor Vehicle Accident.
Being pregnant, I was unable to take pain medication to control
the neck and low back pain. It was recommended by, my physician
at that time, Dr. Lauren Broussal, that I try physical therapy.
As I had seen the results of treatment at Jay B. Kain Physical
Therapy when my mom had gone there following an auto accident, I
chose to go there as well. My mom was right; the treatments worked
and the staff was very professional, friendly and really seemed
to really care.
Each visit I could notice improvement. The many symptoms I had
been experiencing were lessening; my headaches were less severe,
my neck and back weren’t as stiff, and I experienced dizzy
spells less often. I also noticed that the time I spent lying on
the couch or in bed was decreasing as I became able to do more things
at home.
In August, my newborn daughter, Mary, was diagnosed with Infant
Colic. At one month old she wasn’t showing any signs of improvement.
As recommended, I’d switched formula from one to another,
however she still had projectile vomiting, wasn’t sleeping
(neither was anyone else), was crying day and night (heart wrenching
cries from being in such pain). I was informed by my pediatrician
that there is no medicine to ease their pain and colic is something
that infants “will grow out of” as their intestinal
track develops. And I just had to wait it out.
Upon hearing of my dilemma, Leslie Faddis, PT at Jay B. Kain Physical
Therapy, felt the Integrative Manual Therapy they performed would
help my daughter. So, I brought her in for a few visits to see and
am I glad I did! I noticed right away that Mary sleep better, cried
less and was able to hold formula down easier after each visit.
She relaxed and we were able to relax. She sleep and we were finally
able to sleep. There was such an improvement in Mary’s condition.
We can never thank them enough.
I highly recommend Jay B. Kain Physical Therapy; they’ve
helped my family so much.
